Introducing our valued team member Hanna! Hanna is JM Security's marketing lead and is very skilled in content creation and media. Let's learn more about our valued team member Hanna:

What is your full name?

Hanna Michelle Slater.

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Chatham but at the age of 1 my family moved to LaSalle. I grew up in LaSalle and lived there until September of last year (2018). Now I live in Kingsville and I love it so much!

Where did you go to school?

I went to school at the University of Windsor. I began my University journey majoring in Business Administration, but upon completion of my first year in Business I decided to switch majors to something I enjoyed studying much more: Communications, media and film. I ended University with a major in Communications and a minor in Business Administration.

What's your superpower (what role do you play on the team)?

My passion is creating and editing content for the digital medium. I love coming up with creative ideas and making them come to life via blog post, social media, events/contests, videos, graphics etc. I am also a great coordinator between activities. I like to make sure everything is organized and scheduled and that goals are set and being met.

Why did you join JM Security Canada?

I first joined JM Security Canada as an intern back in September 2018. Having recently graduated from the University of Windsor, I was looking for an opportunity to get some hands on experience in my field of study.  JM Security was hiring a communications expert intern, which was the perfect opportunity for me. A few months after my internship began I was offered a position as their Marketing Lead.

What do you like the most about being a part of JM?

I like that, despite not having a lot of work experience, the team at JM Security respects me and treats me equally to everyone else.  Also, I really like that there is lots of opportunity and room for professional growth.

What do you do for fun?

For fun I enjoy producing content! I like to produce, direct, and host podcasts. I also enjoy making documentary style films and videos.I am also a huge nerd, meaning I am in to all the latest movies, TV shows, games, and YouTube channels. Right now my favorite genre of TV is Anime. I also go to Comicon conventions any chance I get!Lastly, I really enjoy playing hockey. I was the goalie for the University of Windsor women’s hockey team back in my prime... but for now I am “retired” from the sport.

What's your favorite food?

LOBSTER! In general I like all seafood but if I had to choose one specifically it would be lobster. To my misfortune I do not live near any oceans that supply fresh seafood, so when I go away on vacation I make sure to get my fill!

What's your favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday is Christmas. I am a Christian, and to us Christmas is a wonderfully time of year because we get to celebrate the birth of Christ.  I also enjoy Christmas trees, Christmas decorations and the overall joyful spirit that is felt around this time of year.
